Kia ora,

The Committee is looking forward to coming together with everyone at the AGM on the 17 August at the Arrowtown Rugby Club at 7pm.

It has been an incredible year for our school rowers, coxes and masters rowers and we are always looking at ways to improve as club.

The agenda for the AGM will cover the following:
1. Welcome.
2. Election of officers including President, Vice President, Treasurer, Club Captain and
Committee members – nominated prior to AGM and elected by incoming officials.
Support roles for next season covering, regatta logistics, website, membership , assistance
with club kit. Please see the attached Roles and Responsibilities document for guidance.
3. Annual financials.
4. Resolution for the club to continue to be an incorporated society and apply for charitable
status. Over 90 rowing clubs in NZ have Charitable status and it opens up new pathways for
donations and funding.
5. Resolution to update some club rules that have been superseded.
6. Other business.

Please submit all nominations for the elected officer positions to Whakatipurowingclub@gmail.com by 5pm on 29 July 2022. All nominees will be put to the members at the AGM and where multiple nominees are presented there will be a vote by ballot. Nominees do not need to be in attendance at the AGM however, members will need to be present to vote, noting that the constitution allows a parent of a member to vote on their behalf, as long as they are present at the meeting. Proxy (remote) votes will not be accepted.

We have a wonderful club, which is only made possible by its members. We can only improve the club and build our new club house with your help, so we encourage you to be part of the committee.

We look forward to receiving your nominations and to seeing you at the meeting. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Ngā mihi,

The Committee 2021/22
